We discovered that many things we cannot see still exist, like air and CO₂, which affected our experiment. Matter appears in three states: solid, liquid, and gas, and it can change between them when temperature changes. Density tells us how heavy something is for its size, and it played a key role because the CO₂ was denser than air and settled at the bottom, removing the oxygen that the candle needed to stay lit.
